The First International Festival of Ossetia’s pies in Vladikavkaz was held during the celebration of the 229th anniversary of the city.

More than 100 people applied to take part, of which the jury selected 50 contestants, including both women and men. Despite the bad weather, the festival was full of  visitors: not only local residents came but also visitors from Moscow and Bulgaria. Within the festival  the theatrical performance was organized that showed the customs of their ancestors. The whole stages of life of the Ossetians were presented. On the banks of the River Terek tents were set, where the participants of the festival were cooking pies and a special master class was organized.
