At a meeting of the Moscow government a draft plan of the Yakimanka’s district in the city center where a confectionary factory "Red October" was located was approved. This territory is situated between the Moscow River and the bypass channel near the Kremlin.

In times of Yuriy Luzhkov it was planned to build about 1 million square meters of different real estate. Sergei Sobyanin said that currently the territory of the "Red October" is seen as the public pedestrian zone first of all, where won’t be a lot of buildings and there will be many objects of culture, leisure. Over the past years "Red October" has become one of the biggest party place of Moscow: there are the best clubs of the capital, as well as the Institute for Media, Architecture and Design "Strelka (Arrow)". The approved project will be realized in 2013-2015 at the expense of investors.
