According to the most recent survey with the view to discover the Russian habits of looking after one's health, the citizens are very health-savvy. They generally try to lead a healthy lifestyle and to visit doctors for regular check-ups.
In looking after themselves, Russians keep an eye on their budget: over 50 per cent of respondents prefer to exercise at home, rather than go to a fitness centre, and attend state-owned, free of charge clinics and hospitals, instead of commercial ones. More than one third choose to treat themselves with natural remedies or well-known medicines.
Nonetheless, the number of fitness centre clients has increased by 3 points, compared to last year. The growth is observed in the ranks of healthy eaters.
The survey was conducted in 130 Russian towns, 1600 respondents were involved.
