The Russian Icon Museum has opened the exhibition In the Beginning There Was a Word… dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of the Moravian mission of Sts Cyril and Methodius.
The exhibition will present nearly a hundred icons, several dozens of Russian medieval and old believers’ manuscripts from museum collections. A special section of the exhibition consists of icons, engravings and drawings, and even works of medal art with images of Sts Cyril and Methodius.
