Metro tickets up

The Moscow Metro has announced its plans to rise the ticket price from 13 to 18 roubles from January 1, 2006.
Apart from the change in price, the officials intend to build new stations and extend existing lines. They have also replaced old elevators from 1930s, and stepped up security.
New lines are seen as a late and desperately needed measure to balance the demand and capacity of the most popular transport in Moscow.
