Moscow-area Estate to Become a National Park
Arkhangelskoe

A national park will be created in the territory of the Moscow-area Arkhangelskoye memorial estate and lands adjoining to it.

The Ministry for Protection of the Environment and Natural Resources of the Russian Federation has sent a corresponding document to administration of the Moscow Region.

The national park will occupy the territories adjacent to the science town of Skolkovo, rural settlement of Barvikha, as well as land plots of the Krasnogorsk and Odintsovo Districts.

Arkhangelskoye is a palace and park ensemble of the late 18th century, located in the Krasnogorsk District of the Moscow Region. In 1810 the well-known collector and connoisseur of arts Prince Nikolay Yusupov acquired the estate. Thanks to its unique architecture and park this place is referred to as “Moscow-area Versailles”.
