The documentary by Maxim Pozdorovkin and Mike Lerner “Pussy Riot: The Punk Prayer” received a special prize of the jury of the Independent Film Festival "Sundance".

The premiere of the film was shown in the program of the world documentary films, where 11 films besides the work on Pussy Riot were presented. The film tells about the process on the participants of the the punk band Pussy Riot that took place in Moscow in 2012, for the "punk prayer" in the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour the court sentenced two girls – Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina - to 2 years of imprisonment, and for Ekaterina Samutsevich the same sentence was later changed to two years of probation.

"Sundance" Film Festival is held in Park City (Utah), from 17 to 27 January. It was founded by Robert Redford in 1981. This year the festival is held for the 29th time.
