The premiere of the operas for the young audience "The Child and the Magic Spells" by Maurice Ravel and "The Young Person`s Guide to the Orchestra" by Benjamin Britten, the stage version of which first appeared in the repertoire of the Bolshoi Theatre, will be played at its new stage.
The director and production designer of the stage version of the opera "The Child and the Magic Spells" is Anthony McDonald. As the director said, he did not change the plot of the opera, but tried to bring it closer to the today's audience - the action is moved from XX to XXI century.
The second opera is "The Young Person`s Guide to the Orchestra" by Benjamin Britten. The music director is Alexei Bogorad. In his opinion, if the "The Child and the Magic Spells" by Ravel is a journey through the opera, Britten`s work is the guide to the orchestra, its music has its own drama, and Britten conveyed this in a perfect manner.
