Restorers try to rescue a water-mill built back in the 19th century in the Kursk Region. Not so long ago first class flour was produced there. Now it is dangerous even to enter inside the mill. The beams have rotten through, and all the mechanisms have rusted. However a restoration project is being actively discussed now.
It is the only remaining water-mill in the Central Black Earth Region and a unique 19th century monument of wooden architecture for these places. It was built by the rich landowner Feodor Sadovnichy, and later it was a pride of the local collective farm. Throughout is entire history the house and the wheel of the mill were repaired just once. It was only thanks to the miller, nowadays the late George Krasnikov, the mill has come down to us.
By next summer the old mill will have been revived, museum workers claim.
