Unique Museum of Thimbles Opens in Kopeisk

Museum of Thimbles has opened in Kopeisk town of the Chelyabinsk Region.

      There are similar museums only in three countries of the world: Holland, Austria and Germany. The opening ceremony of the Museum of Thimbles took place in the campus of Kopeisk garment factory. The collection of sewing accessories presents to visitors 300 exhibits. In the museum one can see thimbles from all over the world – from Europe, Greece, Egypt, Turkey, Cyprus, Cuba and Russia, of course. Each exhibit is unique – there are pieces made of mammoth tusk, man’s tooth, and even thimbles inlaid with rubies.

      The themes are also different – it can be English style, Catholic style, as well as a variety of images.
