The fourth Biennale of poets will be held in Moscow from September 27 to October 1. Today Moscow poets award their colleagues from Russian regions and from abroad with the Moscow-Transit award.
Recitals, book presentations, round tables, spiritual and sound poetry evenings are in the framework of the festival. The poets will also go to schools to give lessons on poetry.
The fourth Bienale’s topic reads as ‘Dialectic of Overcoming’ – it has something to do with the fact that the main guests of the festival are poets from Israel and Germany. They are going to recite poems and speak about the ways to ‘surmount the burden of history’ and ‘how literature and poetry can retarget man’s view from the past to the future and from hostility to collaboration’.
‘Unfettered Uliss: Russian poetry outside Russia’ – such is the title of the big anthology to be presented at the Biennale. There will also take place a presentation of the Russian-German anthology Diapason, an action called Poet’s Manuscript Book and a one-day exhibition ‘Mail-Art of Germany and Israel.
Among original events of the biennale one should mention the round table under the title ‘African Placstics. African Text’ with Senegal poet Amadu Lamin Sall participating and recitals and a round table for authors who have had some head traumas or other neuralgic problems, titled Poet’s Head.
