Tourists may now book their whole trip online and in advance with the help of the new digital technology to be introduced by Aeroflot JSC soon.
We want to lead in the electronic industry, Evgeny Bachurin, commercial director of the air company, told a press conference on Friday.
The common electronic system will allow any traveler to book and pay for a ticket, hotel, taxi and even a car rent. Its price has not been revealed.
Currently, the Aeroflot has secured the know-how, unique to Russia, to get it up and running by mid-2006.
Furthermore, Aeroflot has become the official partner with the RF Olympic Committee. The Federal Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, the Olympic Committee and the Aeroflot struck a deal on Friday entrusting the latter to carry the Russian team, the official delegation and guests to the XX Winter Olympics in Italy.
Special Boeing-767 charter flights will be arranged to fly an estimated 2,500 people, said Evgeny Bachurin.
The first flights to Turin are due on the eve of the Olympics, held from February 10 through 26.
