The Russian synchronized swimming team has broken the record at the World Aquatic Championship by gaining the seven gold medals of seven possible in Shanghai. Earlier not a single national team has ever got seven gold medals at once.
The Russian synchronized swimming team has won the seventh gold medal in the free programme, what made the total score of 98.620 points. It was the seventh golden medal in the seven synchronized swimming events at the World Aquatics Championships in Shanghai.
China was second with 96.580 points and Spain took the bronze with 96.090.
Team leader Natalia Ischenko has brought her country six golds in China to set an unbelievable achievement of becoming a 16-times world champion. Ishchenko won two team medals with Russia and four other events -- solo technical, solo free, duet technical, and duet free. Russia also won the only event that Ishchenko didn't compete in, the team technical.
