Lecture on Animal Domestication – Also Online

Geneticists from Novosibirsk will tell everyone, who bothers visiting their website, about animal domestication and early intellectual achievements of mankind.

Twelve thousand years ago human beings didn’t know anything about studies, nevertheless, they started a great biological experiment – domestication of wild animals. Now the technology of the process is widely used, but we still known little about mechanisms of domestication.

Simple but elegant experiments with foxes demonstrated that cubs of foxes, which favoured human beings, liked us even more. The same way was chosen by ancient dogs many thousands years ago.

      You can visit the
webpage of Siberian branch of Russian academy of sciences and watch the lecture online. More lectures on various subjects, which explain many things to even children, can be found on the same page.
