Eurovision is no Longer interesting for Russians

This year the Eurovision Song Contest had the lowest rating in Russia over the past ten years. This is perfectly seen in a research, made by TNS company. Only 35,9% of televiewers living in Moscow were watching the finals of Eurovision and only 33,1% viewers of the whole country were watching the show. With such rates this show that had been raising about 50-60% almost every year didn't enter the top 5 of most popular tv programs of the last week. There was a lower rating only in 1995 year, when Russia was represented by Philip Kirkorov. For Russian televiewers the most popular show was performed in 2009 year, when the Song Contest was held in Moscow. Eurovision usually enters the top 5 most popular shows in Russia, along with some important sport events. This year the Victory parade, as well as the New Year greetings of the president, attracted the majority of the audience. On Eurovision-2011 Russia has been represented by Alexei Vorobyov, he took only the 16th place in the competition. lenta.ru
