Charity concerts will take place in Tyva to collect assets for building of Russia’s largest statue of Buddha in Kyzyl.
The idea of building 15-meter gilded statue of Buddha Shakyamuni on Dogee Hill in the vicinities of Kyzyl was suggested by Buddhist llamas of Tyva two years ago. At a rough guess, its creation will cost not less than 75 million roubles.
The statue is planned to be established on a pedestal 25 meters high. A ladder about 600 meters long will be laid to it. The order for casting the statue of copper and brass will be directed to the city of Volgodonsk of the Rostov Region, where the 10-meter Buddha for the major temple of Elista, the capital of Kalmykia, as well as a 6 meter figure of Buddha for Buryatia were made.
