Building of the Far East Federal University taking place in Russky Island of the Primorsky Territory is coming to its completion.
      
      Representatives of the general contractor assure that the Federal University will harmoniously fit into the island’s environment and have minimum influence on it. However, ecologists apprehend that the island will be soon lost for the townspeople.
      
      Russky Island is a favourite vacation spot for Vladivostok dwellers, who always find there clear sea and free space in the sun. Building of objects of CEO Summit APEC-2012 — a bridge to the continent and large-scale university projects — stir controversy among experts and local dwellers.
      
      Ecologists assume that building of the Far East Federal University initiates ruining of the island’s nature. Despite all ecological measures undertaken by designers of the university, the Russky Island, followed by other islands near Vladivostok will be absorbed by city building constructions or divided among influential and well-off townspeople.
      
      According to ecologists, Russky Island ought to be kept as a recreational zone, and instead of building a bridge ferry communication would be good. But now large-scale city building of island territories is inevitable.
