The Novotroitsk Chrome Complex Factory located in the Orenburg Region dumps all its industrial wastes, including hard and hazardous wastes, into Ural River, the RF Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology reports.
“Check has revealed that the enterprise does not have established standards of wastes generation and waste disposal limits, and does not pay for waste disposal”, the Ministry informs.
The Novotroitsk Chrome Complex Factory was put into operation in the town of Novotroitsk in 1963. The chrome complexes produced by the factory are used in the textile, tanning, ore-dressing and processing, metallurgical, pulp-and-paper, paint and varnish, chemical, and glass industries, as well as mechanical engineering, shipbuilding, and manufacture of synthetic detergents.
