The tank expected to contain 20 tons of acorns, will be built in the Voronezh Region.
The cost of the first stage of building including capital and design expenses will make 200 million rbl. The same amount is expected to be spent on the second stage – the investments will be allocated for equipment of premises with the systems that will allow preserving the seeds for a long time.
The developed technology of storing seeds will make it possible to hold acorns for 3 years. It should be noted that now the storage period is not more than 1 year.
The seeds will be used for restoration of protective oak groves: the oak is the basic breed which is used for protection of fields. The storehouse will provide acorn seeds for the Volga Region and the south of Russia, where drying of oak groves occurs most often.
