Administration of the Kizhi Memorial Estate allocated money to a Petersburg building company for carrying out some construction works.
      
      In 2008 this company won the auction for the right of constructing a cargo mooring in Vasilevo Village of the Kizhi Island.
      
      The works were supposed to be carried out in the framework of actions for preservation of the churchyard of Kizhi Island and development of the memorial estate. Within a year builders conducted works and received payments for them under given certificates. However, all of a sudden all works were curtailed and the company left the island.
      
      The company’s representatives were not found at the registered address. The check-up revealed that the work for which the builders got more than 42 million roubles actually remained unexecuted. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Karelia, criminal case has been opened against the building company and investigation is in progress now.
