Soviet Poet Nikolay Dorizo Passes Away

Recognized Soviet poet Nikolay Dorizo has died, aged 87, in Peredelkino today in the morning, January, 31st.
      Nikolay Dorizo was born in 1923. He started writing in 1938, and in 1948 had his first book of poems, On the native coasts, published.
      The poet became widely known mainly as the author of popular songs from the film It was in Penkovo.
      Besides, Nikolay Dorizo published poetic collections "While there are trees in the world", "Face of Victory", "Once I wrote a song". Besides, his songs sound in the films Different destinies and A simple story.
      The poets creativity was marked with several state awards. In particular, he was awarded The Order of the Badge of Honour and Order of the Red Banner of Labour. Besides, Nikolai Dorizo was the winner of the Gorky State Award of RSFSR.
