Russian engineers started pilot production of nano-structure graphite for medical purposes.
Nanographite is a fluffy low-density carbon material, which is chemically safe for human beings. Particles of this material have high adsorbing properties, which make them a promising material for medicine, for example, in wound dressings with extended healing properties.
The new material was developed by several research institutions of Siberia, including Tomsk Polytechnic University and the Institute of High-Current Electronics (Siberian branch of Russian academy of sciences), for instance.
