Russia plans to launch several European satellites by means of “Rokot” rocket carrier from Plesetsk launching site, mass media report.
René Pischel, head of ESA Permanent Mission in the Russian Federation, says that first launch will orbit three Swarm space vehicles, and the second – a Sentinel satellite.
Swarm satellites, made by EADS Astrium company, will provide investigation of Earth’s magnetic field and its evolution with time. These satellites will fly at various polar orbits between 450 and 530 kilometers.
The Sentinel satellite was built to keep an eye on our planet.
