17th Century Rare Wooden Museum Burned in Verkhoturye

Fire in the former Museum of Local Lore in Verkhoturye (Sverdlovsk Region) left the rare wooden architecture monument built without a single nail roofless.
      
      According to the Ministry of Emergency Measures, the inflaming was reported to rescuers on November, 11th, 2010 at 7.19 pm. Five fire engines and 38 firemen liquidated the fire within two hours. 400 square meters part of the roof was burnt down. Fortunately, no one was injured.
      
      The former museum built back in 1630 is the architecture monument "House for receiving visitors". It has not been used for the last two years. So, no cultural values were kept in the building. According to tentative data, the fire occurred because of faulty electrical wiring.
