Tretyakov Gallery Opens Large-Scale Exhibition of Andrei Rublev

State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow) will hold a large-scale exhibition of works by the outstanding icon painter Andrei Rublev.
      
      As the museum site informs, apart from icons, the exhibition will present illustrated manuscript books, as well as fragments of monumental painting discovered in the course of recent archaeological research.
      
      The exposition will open in the State Tretyakov Gallery on December, 21st and will run till February, 27th, 2011.
      
      It is a reminder that Andrei Rublev Museum of Old Russian Culture is holding an exhibition dedicated to the artist’s anniversary. The exposition presents mainly copies of his frescos in the Dormition Cathedral in Vladimir. The replicas were made by artist Nikolay Gusev.
      
      The exhibition Frescos of Andrei Rublev. Copies and Fragments runs till July, 1st, 2011.
