Competition in space tourism: Virgin Calactic or ISS?

A new kind od space tourism has been presented in Russia: it is suborbital flights. It is kind of light version of space tourism: a special astronautical craft lifts tourists on the altitude of 100 kilometers above the Earth. Spacecraft will land on the same place it started.

Commercial manned flights like this will cost USD 100, 000 and will continue just 15 minutes. More than 200 people from all over the world have already manifested a desire to make a suborbital trip. First trip is supposed to take place in 2012.

Crafts for these flights look like Soyuz Crew Transport Vehicle, but in miniature. The capsule itself is not be very large: its diameter is 3 m and height - 4 metres.

American service has one advantage in comparison with Russian service. Visit to ISS (International Space station) costs a few millions USD. But that is a question, if facility of access to such services affects the world well: unfortunately, sometimes tourists like polluting environment on the earth. Their abilities will expand considerably since 2012.
