Russia Nominates Alexei Uchitels Film  The Edge for Oscar Prize

The Edge by director Alexei Uchitel will represent Russia in the foreign films nomination for Oscar Prize.
      Russian film committee has preferred The Edge to the films One War (Odna voyna) by Vera Glagoleva, How I Ended This Summer (Kak ya provyol etim letom) by Aleksei Popogrebsky, Burnt by the Sun 2 (Utomlyonnye solntsem 2) by Nikita Mikhalkov and Tsar by Pavel Lungin.
      The Edge (Krai) is set in a taiga settlement named Krai (Edge) right after the Great Patriotic War; it is a love story of a war hero and a daughter of a shot down German engineer. Vladimir Mashkov plays the lead.
