Levitan House Museum Restored in Plyos

The house museum of the illustrious artist Isaac Levitan has been restored in the town of Plyos.
      The restoration works had been completed within two years and will be timed to the artists 150th anniversary on August, 30th and the 600th anniversary of Plyos.
      The museum has launched an exhibition of Levitan's works from the funds of museums of the Central Russia, including those painted by him in France and Crimea. In particular, the famous painting Lake. Russia (1900) has been brought to Plyos from the Russian Museum.
      Levitan worked in Plyos in 1888-1890; during these three summers he created more than 200 works, including 23 painting canvasses.
