Mr Trololo Announces Contest for Best Lyrics to his Main Hit (video)
Eduard Khil

The Peoples Artist of Russia Eduard Khil has announced the start of the unusual international contest for the best lyrics to his vocal hit Trololo.
The musician will had the jury of this contest.
In the middle of March this year the music video released 44 years back turned an Internet hit within just several days, absolutely unexpectedly for the singer. Such great popularity of a song without words prompted the idea of the competition that admits lyrics in any language of the world.
As Eduard Khil explained, this song by composer Arkady Ostrovsky initially had lyrics about a cowboy; they, however, appeared disagreeable to the authorities and so the song lost its words.
The artist titled the song after the composers phrase: I am very glad, because I'm finally returning back home.
As for the lyrics for the contest, the singer states that any author can offer ones own plot, since each country has its own worldview and religion, and one should be attentive to everybody.
