Poet Andrey Voznesensky has died today, June, 1st, after a serious long illness, aged 77.
The author of well-known verses, prose writer, artist and architect, and one of the most famous poets of the sixties has died at his home in Moscow.
Andrey Voznesensky was born in Moscow on May, 12th, 1933. At the age of 14 he sent his verses in his specific style to Boris Pasternak and was invited to visit the renowned poet. This acquaintance determined the entire future life of Andrey Voznesensky.
In 1957 he graduated from the Moscow Architecture Institute, and a year later started to have his verses published.
