New Engine for Carrier Rocket to Be Developed

Russian engineers from Voronezh started working on an experimental method for new engine RD-0110R, designed for carrier rocket “Soyuz 2-1V”.

Engineers recently performed a successful cold start test – a so called “cold-flow test”, when an engine is tested without fuel ignition. Few more similar tests are required, before first firing trials would be performed.

New liquid fuel rocket engine RD-0110R, being a part of a first stage of a rocket carrier, will enhance booster thrust and act as control engine for the initial stage of putting the carrier rocket to space.
