Yesterday archeologists started diggings in the famous historical monument of St. Petersburg – Petropavlovskaya fortress.
In December 2009 remains of 17 people, shot down by Bolsheviks between 1918 and 1919, were discovered in the fortress. Scientists believe that four Great Dukes of the Romanovs, who were beatified by Orthodox church in 1981, could have been among hem.
Genetic tests will show whether historians were right or wrong. Scientists decided that all construction works would then come together with archeological diggings.
