Remembrance Days Law
12.07.2005 00:00

Significant dates are now officially compiled into a chapter of the Remembrance Days Law.

       The list features 5 days:

      January 25 – Students’ Day;

      April 12 – Cosmonautics Day;

      September 3 – Fighting Terrorism Day;

      November 7 – 1917 October Revolution Day;

      December 12 – Constitution Day.

       Unfortunately for most Russians, they are all working days but if organizations and enterprises want to celebrate it, they are free to do it. The federal budget has to provide 81m roubles to sponsor new memorials, publications in mass media and other formats of coverage and celebrations. Other sources of funding include allocations from regional and municipal coffers as well as voluntary contributions.
