Since June 1, 2008, International Air Transport Association (IATA) that includes 6 Russian member air companies stops usage of paper tickets. IATA includes 240 air companies from different countries of the world that together control 94% of the world’s air transportations. At the moment a number of European airlines, including the Irish Ryanair and Easyjet, have fully switched to selling flights with e-tickets. The electronic system of ticketing is also popular in China which is expected to halt usage of paper tickets by the end of 2007. E-ticketing service is expected to be introduced in Russia in January 2008 and will let passengers book air tickets from their home PCs. It is expected that expenses of air companies will decrease by US$9 per passenger. Russian air companies – IATA members are Aeroflot, Transaero, S7, Vladivostok Avia, Russia, and Volga-Dnepr Airlines.
