1853—Alexey Brusilov, cavalry general, is born
In 1873 he starts his military service. In 1877-1878 took part in Russia’s campaign in Turkey. After that he becomes the chief of Cavalry school in Russia. At the beginning of the World War I he is the Army commander, and in 1916 as the commander of the South-West front he organizes an attack, now known as “Brusilovskiy proryv” (Brusilov’s penetration).
