1980—Solemn XXII Olympic games closing ceremony was held in Moscow.
Beautuful ceremony came off successfully, and the games in Moscow were also a great success. 74 olympic and 36 world records were held during the games in 1980.

1959—Opening of the first International Moscow Cinema Festival.
The festival was held under the next motto: "To the humanity of cinema art,to peace and friendship!".The festival lasted two weeks and the main prize was given to the studio "Lenfilm" for films "Chapaev","Youth of Maxim","Peasants".The second and the third awards were adjudjed to the French director Rene Claire and Walt Disney.
