1949—The first atomic bomb was tested in USSR.
In USSR was carried out the examination of the first atomic bomb.At 6.30 a.m.(Moscow time)academician Kurchatov demanded to set off a bomb.A bright strong lightening lit up,its light was too blinding to look at.Soon after that an atomic mushroom appeared,its column reached 7 km.

1912—To commemorate 100-th Jubilee of Patriotic War of 1812, The Battle of Borodino panorama on Chistoprudny Boulevard is set.
Later in 1962 a special building was ereced for it in Kutuzovsky Prospekt, not far from Poklonny Hill. The Battle of Borodino panorama remains the only museum in Russia whose exhibits tell a detailed story of the entire 1812 campaign.
