22 August — Day of Russian National Flag



In 1991 white-blue-red tricolour became one of the symbols of struggle against the coup. Defenders of the White House fought under this flag, and later it became the State Flag of Russian Federation. Unofficial interpretation of the colours: white is for peace and purity; blue for fidelity; red for power and blood shed for the Motherland.
