Dates in History
1826—The Decembrists are executed.
Five leaders of the Decembrist revolt P. Pestel, K. Ryleyev, S. Muravyov-Apostol, M. Bestuzhev-Ryumin and P. Kakhovsky are hanged. These men headed first revolutionary movement against tzarism in the era of autocracy and entered the Senatskaya Square of Saint Petersburg with unrolled war banners December 14, 1825.

1817—Opening of the first Russian fair in Nizhniy Novgorod.
The fair in Nizhniy Novgorod became one of the most important trade centres in Russian Empire.Its work was stopped in 1917 and was restarted in 1990.
