1745—Denis Fonvizin, writer, is born.
In 1781 Fonvizin creates his most accomplished work comedy Nedorosl (Greenhorn). In his play he points out the root of all Russian misfortunes serfdom and public ignorance, which can be overcome be reforms in the manner of Enlightenment.
