1882—Korney Chukovsky, childrens writer, critic, translator, is born.
Chukovsky finds his main vocation in writing childrens poetry. For many generations of Russian and Soviet people Chukovsky is the symbol of their childhood. Over 50 million copies of his children books are sold in Russia and other countries.
