Dates in History
1898—The first Russian hockey match takes place in St. Petersburg.
Members of two teams skate with sticks in hands and try to drive a small gutta-percha ball in the opponents’ goal. This day is considered to be the birth day of Russian hockey.

1535—Currency reform in Russia.
Unified monetary system is introduced. The only legitimate currency is the new silver coins: kopeyka, denga, and polushka, which are cast by the Sovereign’s Mint. Counterfeiting and cutting money in pieces is prohibited from this day on. It is also a birth day of kopeyka.
