1859—Alexander Popov, physicist, inventor of the radio, is born.
On 7 May 1895 Popov addresses Russian Physicochemical Society and demonstrates the first ever radio receiver. On 24 March 1896 at the gathering of Russian Physicochemical Society he transmits the first ever radiogram over the distance of 250 meters.
