1922—Yury Lotman, specialist in study of literature, is born. Lotman is one of the most famous specialists in study of literature, his books on Pushkin and Karamzin, especially his Commentary to “Evgeny Onegin”, are considered the most thorough and detailed, and are studied in schools, colleges, and universities of Russia. 
1732—The first military school is opened in St. Petersburg | Russian Empress Anna I signed an edict,according to which military schools were to be open.Students had to pass combatant training and to wear a special form.Children of officers,noblemen and officials had the privilege before other pupils. |
