1722—Peter the Great issues a decree concerning inheritance to the throne.
This decree abolishes the tradition according to which the oldest son automatically becomes Heir to the Throne. The decree declares that it all depends upon Tzars wish, who can change his decision if he doesnt find the chosen one worthy of inheriting the throne.
