1866—Lev Shestov, philosopher, is born.
Lev Shestov is one of the founders of the existential philosophy.

1864—Moscow Zoo is opened
Scientists-biologists of the Imperial Society organized the first zoo garden,where many species of local fauna were presented.After the Revolution of 1917 the Zoo was nationalized,nowadays its territory is 21 hectares and there are 7 000 animals and birds.
