1991—For the last time the President of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev, addresses the nation.
In his speech he tells that on account of the formation of the Commonwealth of Independent States he abandons the post of the president of the USSR. In about 40 minutes the Soviet Union flag is pulled down and the three colour Russian flag is raised on top of the Kremlin Palace.
