Dates in History
1951—The Soviet Navy commissions a new Project 613 Submarine.
This marks the start of construction of the second generation submarines. It’s the first submarine to be covered with rubber, which also makes it the most silent one. The first missiles to be launched from a submarine are launched from a submarine of this type.

1742—Peter Inokhodtsev, astronomer, is born.
Inokhodsev is the first Russian astronomy historian.
