1788—Mikhail Shepkin, an actor, is born.
He is born in serfdom, but in 1822 he and his family are released from the serfdom. Shepkin performs various roles, and achieves such a success that many writers write plays specially for him to play in. Today there is a drama school attached to Maly Theatre that bears his name.
