1910—Galina Ulanova, world famous ballet dancer, is born.

1872—Nikolay Panin-Kolomenkin, sportsman, is born.
Nikolay Panin-Kolomenkin is the first Russian to become Olympic Champion. In 1908 he wins the Golden Medal in figure skating.

1784—Russia and Turkey sign a treaty by which Crimea, Kuban, and Taman go to Russia.
